What was the highlight of Dream of Zanzibar Resort & Spa
Very Good
Brand-new hotel on a lovely white sand beach. The common areas of the hotel as well as the rooms are all very nice and new. There were some issues with electricity, but they have a generator on the premises, so the light and basic electricity work even when there's a power cut. The AC does NOT work during a power cut... so that was a bit of an issue, as on my arrival, the power had been out for a couple of hours and it was incredibly hot in the room. However, the issue was resolved after a while. I did get a free late checkout for the inconvenience, so that was really nice. Pool and beach area are very quiet, which I liked. Food was also very good!
As it's a new hotel, there are still some issues (with power cuts etc.). Most of the staff were very friendly, but some seem inexperienced. The chef at breakfast in the morning seemed very out-of-spirits (if not rude). The service at the pool was sometimes very slow (30min wait for a glass of water). If these issues are resolved, I feel this can be a very nice, relaxing hotel.
